Starting to feel real...FINALLY!

Baby Moore is officially 15 weeks today! He/She is the size of a Naval Orange and is 4inches long.  We go to the doctor in 2 weeks on Oct. 4th to find out if our sweet baby will be a BOY or a GIRL?! We are officially not finding out until Oct. 6th (why oh why did i agree to this?!) at our Gender Reveal Party! The plan is to have the dr. put the gender in an envelope and seal it and then take it somewhere and have them put balloons of that color in a big box so we can open it at the party!

As the title says, Baby Moore is starting to finally feel real to me.  I think there was a long time that he/she just didn't feel real yet.  Like I didn't even want to think/talk about being pregnant yet, i didn't go look at any baby things, and didn't want to plan anything for the baby yet.  In our house, it was kind of a taboo subject because John Mark didn't want to think about it either! We were in total denial.

As many of you may know...we have been through this before not too long ago either.  We got pregnant last year and made it all the way to 10 weeks before we went to our first ultrasound and found out that our baby didn't have a heartbeat and had stopped growing at 8 weeks. We were devastated.  I was devastated.  It felt like my heart was broken.  Everyone had been talking that we were so lucky...because i didn't have any morning sickness and it had been an easy pregnancy.  i guess there was a reason for that. After our miscarriage, we kept trying to get pregnant and were not successful for what seemed like ages. I was so stressed every month. We actually got pregnant on a month that we had just decided to take a mini-break and not stress out over it.  God works in mysterious ways I guess!

So we finally are pregnant! We are due on March 14th, 2014 (less than 2 weeks before our original due date with our first baby). So it feels like we are coming full circle.  We told our very close family in July so that they could be in prayer over our sweet baby. I'm so thankful for our doctors office because we have gotten the chance to have many ultrasounds, hear/see the heartbeat many times, and they calmed a lot of my fears early on.

I am still a little scared, because I know some people have miscarriages later on in pregnancy, but I have faith that I will get to hold this baby in my arms in 6 months!

This pregnancy has not always been easy...I had morning sickness every, single morning from 6 weeks to 10 weeks, and then 2-3 times per week until last week.  And I got really queasy when I didn't eat enough small snacks throughout the day.  But, I have officially not been sick for over a week now! (knock on wood!) I was also extremely tired during the whole first trimester as well, but some of my energy is finally coming back! I can actually stay up till 10:30 on some nights now! I have been getting the best sleep though (minus waking up to use the restroom 1-2 times a night), because I can fall asleep immediently now! I also had "spotting" off/on for about 2-3 weeks and called the dr at one point and got put on bed rest for the day until i could have an ultrasound the next morning. Everything was normal and perfect and i haven't had any the past 5 weeks! But overall, it hasn't been too bad of a pregnancy and I definitely won't complain about a single thing!

Extra facts...

-I'm officially in maternity pants these days.  I've got a little belly (that gets bigger after I eat) and I think you can definitely notice it because it just pops out.

-My mom made up the nickname "WeeMo" for our baby when we were on vacation and it has kind of stuck, especially with my mom, sister, Levi & Naomi. They like to say when the baby is born...they can tell people at the hospital that they are "finding weemo" or they can sing it in a song like "w-e-e-m-o, w-e-e-m-o, w-e-e-m-o and weemo was his name-o!"  My family is a little on the crazy side. :)

-We have picked a boy name and a girl name that we like and agree on! I feel like JM finally got serious about it (after telling me names like John Mark Jr. and Willis).  I wrote out a list of names that I liked and then he looked at it and we just decided pretty easily! :) You won't find out both names...because I may want to use the other one in the future, but you will find out the baby's name when we know what the gender is on Oct. 6th!

-My almost 3 year old niece, Naomi, thinks the baby is a girl and every time I ask her what the name is going to be, she says....GORDON! Every. Single. Time. (THE BABY WILL NOT BE NAMED GORDON) :)

-My almost 5 year old nephew, Levi, likes to know what "fruit" the baby is every week. And he asks me "When is it going to be a watermelon and be bigger than unk unk's belly?" hehe.

-Levi also says that the baby is going to "hatch" which led Naomi to tell me last week that she heard our baby going "peep peep peep" (i guess a chicken noise). hahaha.

And now i guess i'll do the typical "survey" so that I can compare the baby every week.  Sorry I'm just now starting on 15 weeks!

I  am: 15 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a(n): a naval orange (about 4 inches long!)

I've gained: maybe 2 pounds? It changes everyday! Still around my pre-pregnancy weight!

Maternity Clothes: Jeans and pants! I can still fit in like one pair of my old jeans comfortably!

My mood: currently hungry and tired! :) I have a lot to do today,  but can't get out of bed! haha.

Gender: we don't know yet! Jm and I think girl, but everyone is telling me boy! so it'll be a surprise either way!

Cravings: anything salty! i could really go for some salt and vinegar chips...

What I'm missing: sleeping on my right side...ever since i had spotting early on in my pregnancy, my dr told me to sleep mostly on my left side. which is hard because i used to only sleep on my right side!

Highlights/ Exciting moments:We have started planning the Gender Reveal party (a little late, i know) and we now have a photographer coming to take pictures of it! the theme will be guns or glitter?! And one of my best friends from high school/college that I roomed with for 4 years announced that she is pregnant too! She is due just 2.5 weeks after me! Hopefully our kiddos can be good friends like us! :)

Here is a picture from this past week (with my little baby bump) when we went on a picnic/hike with my parents and brother at morrow mtn!

*I will try to keep this up on a weekly basis! So check back next week for an update on Baby Moore! I will also post belly pictures with my new chalkboard, but I have to figure out our new camera first! :)
